Communicating with your doctors and the medical team can be really difficult even if your French is good. The stress of the moment can make you forget a lot of the French that you know, and there is a lot of technical vocabulary involved. Having someone there to translate for you can ensure that you are able to understand exactly what is going on and ensure that you get answers to all the questions you may have.
We can offer you the aid of one of our language supporters for important meetings with your doctor, your oncologist, or any other member of the care team. It can be especially useful at the “Consultation d’Annonce”, the appointment when they tell you about your full diagnosis and your treatment. We can also help you communicate with the Assistante Sociale should you wish us to do this.
You can ask for this in the full knowledge that everything will be kept confidential.
